Recreational Vehicles: Best Practices

  • Clean the ventilation grilles.
  • Install a special dehumidifier to regulate air moisture during winter or use a desiccant granule absorber.

While Traveling:

  • Regular Ventilation: Ensure proper air circulation by frequently opening windows and doors, especially after generating steam while showering or cooking.
  • Cover Cooking Pots: Use lids on cooking pots to minimize moisture release.
  • Dry Clothes Outside: When stopped, let your laundry dry outside whenever possible.
  • Monitor Ventilation: Clean the ventilation grilles frequently, especially in the bathroom.
  • Use Heating: A forced-air heating system can help to dehumidify the air.
  • Regular Wall and Seal Inspection: Inspect walls and seals regularly.
  • Use Thermal Insulation Covers: Apply insulation covers to windows.
  • Mattress Protection: Ensure the temperature beneath the bed is not significantly lower than the room temperature.

Adopting these best practices can significantly help reduce moisture in your vehicle. These simple steps, combined with annual professional inspections, will help maintain your vehicle’s condition and prevent costly damage.
